Saint Petersburg State Paediatric Medical University (SPbSPMU) is the pediatrics education college of higher education in Saint Petersburg (formerly known as Leningrad) city of the Russian Federation. Founded in 1925 located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Saint Petersburg. The university was established in the year of 1925 as an institute of Maternity and Infancy in Leningrad city’s pediatrics hospital complex. In 1935 it was changed into Leningrad Paediatric Medical Institute. After that in 1994, the institute received the status of the Academy and on April 27, 2012, the academy received university status and it became Saint Petersburg State Paediatric Medical University (SPbSPMU). Currently, 4000+ students are studying in the university in 66 departments under the staff of 850 skilled faculty. There are 29000 students are graduated from Saint Petersburg State Paediatric Medical University.
