Odesa National Medical University was founded in the year 1900 in the city of Odesa, Ukraine. It is a well-renowned government university. The University was started as the medical faculty of the Novorossiysk University in Odessa, early 1900. Soon, this university faculty was regarded as the most prestigious and well-equipped medicine teaching institution in entire Russia, during that era. However, this famous and rich institution could not see many days it was temporarily shut down during the time second World War. Later, some decades once the war subsided and the new education system with full infrastructure was brought into place; again, the university started gaining popularity and fame in the fraternity of medicine and was groomed as an Independent university.
Around in the year of 1922, an independent medical institution as Odessa Medical Institution became a main and popular institution in the southern region. Post-independence, The Odesa National Medical University was honored with the 4th level of accreditation by the Ukrainian government.
At present, by the full efforts of the main faculty members of the university and contributing members of the medical fraternity of Ukraine ONMU is one of the top leading universities of Ukraine. By the methodological theatrical teaching and updated curriculum, ONMU is well accepted and recognized across the European and American continent. Every year almost 6500 students graduate from 58 different faculties and full fill their dreams of becoming a successful doctor of their life goal. The enrolled candidates can choose the language for instruction from English, Russian and other Ukrainian regional languages.
